The first time you try Fiskars powergear2 lopper, you’ll be amazed – but it’s not magic, it’s gears. Fiskars patented gear technology multiplies your leverage to give you up to 3.2x More power on every cut. This means you can power through tough stems and branches that you wouldn’t be able to cut with traditional pruners. For easy, comfortable pruning, our pruner also includes a contoured handle with a unique rolling design that fits the shape and natural motion of your hand. Our updated design includes modified gears and an innovative cam mechanism to optimize your cutting power in the middle of the cut where the branch is thickest and you need it most. The result is that every cut is even easier than our original PowerGear cutting tools.
Slices thru wood “like it was buttah” – Super Duper Loppers ~ reviewed by Teri S
OMG! The reviews said these were good. They are better than good. My old loppers were good (top of the line Craftsman loppers, had em for 25 years. Thought they were fine. then read the reviews on these and took a chance). These are insanely good. They make you take a good look around to see what else you can lop. I got these 18″ ones that are rated to cut up to 1.5″ and then the 32″ version (also the PowerGear) which are rated to cut up to 2″. I had a big Yew tree branch that had been cut off the tree with a chainsaw because my good pruning saws wouldn’t even begin to make a groove (Yew is some of the hardest wood you’ll find – similar to ironwood). Well these sliced thru the wood “like it was buttah”. A smooth clean slice. Wow. I grabbed the 32″ pair and went for a branch that was just at 2″ in diameter – again, it was “like cuttin’ buttah with a warm knife”. A-frickin-mazing. And the guy helping me do some yard cleanup tried them and he also was amazed. It’s the PowerGear thing. The gear part amplifies your strength so you can cut big thick things with no more effort than cutting thin branches.

Great loppers. ~ reviewed by JoMo
I like the compact design. But they are super strong and cut like a dream when you get them around a branch. Plus they are useful as short pruners when you’re trimming a overgrown bush. Great design.
Strong, Light and Very Well-Made ~ reviewed by BobbyA
This REALLY works very well. I am 71, male, 5’6″. A little arthritis in hands. This machine cuts so very easily with very little effort. It is so solidly made that even if I have to literally lay it down to exert enough force with my whole body to cut a tough dead limb to fit in the recycle can, it stands up to all the pressure without complaint. Yes, it is frustrating in the beginning to learn how to open the jaws wide enough. The jaws open “off-center” and even after a year of steady use I have to remember to compensate my aim when reaching into a thicket of large bamboo. And, sure, I wish the handles didn’t have to open so wide, which makes it difficult to selectively prune within a group of branches.. But this tool is the real deal if you want to cut ANYTHING you can get its jaws around. I’ve had loppers twice this size that didn’t work as well, and I greatly appreciate its light weight. It gets constant use on both live and dead wood, and is the definitely the best tool I have ever purchased!!!.

Rounds Out the Toolbox ~ reviewed by Jeff Strickfaden
These loppers are amazing, and I don’t say that about too many products. I have been using them for a few weeks now and find them very handy. I always use a Felco hand pruner and a saw, but these round out the toolbox. Able to cut cleanly right next to the trunk or branch and faster than the saw. Provides extra reach overhead or in prickly bushes where a hand pruner or saw doesn’t work as well. Effortlessly cuts 1 1/2″ wood and the blade is Teflon coated. I thought the price was reasonable.
