What the heck is that? Expect your neighbors to raise their eyebrows when they see you wielding this innovative pruner. Because, we admit, it does look a little odd with the pivot mechanism behind your hand instead of up front where you are used to seeing it. But this pruner doesn’t feel odd. It feels awesome, because the configuration moves your hand forward to a position of greater strength and precision. You will power through pruning jobs (and enjoy watching your neighbors turn a particularly pleasing shade of “envy green”).
sweet and handy ~ reviewed by Peter Hoh
I have fancier, more expensive pruners, but when I have a light pruning chore, I reach for this tool. It’s especially useful when I need to make many quick cuts.
It’s lightweight and easy to carry in a back pocket. I like the way it fits in my hand. A gentle squeeze and snip, it cuts. Relax, it opens up.
I would not recommend this tool for dry, woody pruning.
Easy on Hands ~ reviewed by L. Lawler
I have arthritis in my thumbs and these shears are fantastic for long term pain free use. Sharp and a nice size for dead heading roses and flowers.
Nice snipper ~ reviewed by Algesan
I’m sold on Fiskars cutting tools and this one is no exception. It snips nicely and cleanly, great for what I use it for which is trimming side branches off bamboo. Now if you want something to cut a big branch, go elsewhere, this is a little pruner and that is what it does.

After getting my palm caught several times between those reverse handles I threw it away. They were my wife’s who stopped liking them, so I got to have them, but they didn’t work for me at all.
My favorite pruners, especially for fast growing vines… ~ reviewed by Nathaniel Allen
I have my choice of a few different sheers and pruners to choose from, to tackle everything from small stalks to fat branches.
But I recently picked these up at the Big Orange Home store — sort of on a whim — and they’ve quickly become my favorite go-to gardening tool.
I have a lot of vines to contend with, and they grow F A S T. These Fiskars allow easy easy one-handed operation, they never get uncomfortable or cause that dreaded hand cramp, and due to their “bypass” design (i.e. leveraged), they’ll even handle some thicker and/or harder vines or small branches. They are plastic construction — actually that “fiberglass-impregnated nylon” with a soft rubberized grip — but they’re stiff, extremely lightweight, and very well balanced.
There’s really not much more to say about these. Hold one in your hand and I think you’ll instantly know what I’m talking about: they just FIT and almost become a natural extension of your palm and fingers.
Gets the job done comfortably ~ reviewed by SGS
Bought these to trim the roses I buy and it works perfectly, even on the super thick long stem roses. These clippers snip through them quickly and cleanly without me having to use much pressure at all. Highly recommend.

My husband found these clippers and I immediately fell in love with them. My hands are small and the simple squeezing motion used with these clippers suited me perfectly. And, no sticking!
Makes it easy to prune ~ reviewed by ZoeandLotus
The rear pivot makes this pruner really easy on the hands. I bought both this size and the larger pruner…only need one (the larger size)
Liked it so much we bought more ~ reviewed by Roberta M. Taylor
We bought one of these a year and a half ago at our local flower show. We liked it so much we bought more – both to use and give as gifts.
